THE BIOLOGICAL RESERVE OF THE SAMA

The biological reserve of the Sama hill range covers 108,000Ha with the objective of protecting the flora and fauna in the Andean range, Tajzara lake, Jurina Jets and the Victoria Basin. The Inca trail also runs through this reserve which is a pre hispanic culture. The principal species protected through this reserve is the Podocarpus parlatorei which is a medium to large evergreen tree.
